light play: notes on a singaporean cockfight

singaporean males tend to converse as though they are comparing dick sizes. i rode a big bike of this brand this number of kilometres this morning. whew! my camera has this lens and is this big and it can do this and this. i bought a supercomputer with ridiculous processing power just so i can play some silly boring game on it.

a lot of it has to do with sports. more prominently, a lot of it involves one-upmanship, and this is utilized by both males and females. very, very interestingly, it has to do with one-upmanship in suffering: that’s not the worse lor, my prof ah, gave us 20 billion pieces of homework! your son is not as bad as mine, mine ah, siao one, everyday never study, next time sure become roadsweeper! it’s almost as though being lousy and lowly in status makes one more important and higher in class.

singaporeans are weird.
